Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this. I am fairly new to french polishing but I think I've gotten the hang of it by now. I am sure that most of you know that LMI's white instrument glue is soluble in denatured alcohol. And DA is the biggest component of a shellac solution. Well, I have noticed that when in direct lighting, you can see faint lines on some of the glue lines. Primarily on the front of the guitar (Rosette especially) where I didn't use epoxy as a pore filler. And of course, I have used LMI's glue - I'm wondering if anyone has had this happen before. Is this another situation like Titebond and KTM-9...the finish will evidently "sink" around any glue joints if you use that combination. I am not too worried about it as the lines can only be seen in direct lighting and this particular guitar is being built for a friend at cost. However, I wouldn't want this to happen to a guitar for a paying customer. Any insights? -- Simon |
